The goal of La Corde, which is part of the Youth Unlimited organization/Jeuness Sans Limite, is that kids of the impoverished Cloverdale community will achieve academic success as the best way of escaping a cycle of poverty. All programs are directed to enable these children to achieve that goal, by addressing the areas that could cause them to stumble. Every weekday, 50 Cloverdale youth frequent the centre, receiving breakfast, lunch, after-school homework assistance, music lessons, life skills training, goal setting & nutrition workshops, and mentoring. Other activities include a Christmas toy dispersal, back to school packs supplied to families, and practical assistance to families.

Volunteers are needed to listen to students practice their music while they wait for their lessons. Any experienced musicians that felt comfortable to teach a lesson would also be most welcome.
o Sponsoring a La Corde child: Full sponsorships are offered at $36 per child per month, with half sponsorships available at $18
Westview has recently launched a new initiative with La Corde; in order to help children get an education and to break free from the cycle of poverty. We are doing this by working together to help ensure that La Corde is able to run their breakfast and lunch programs. When a child is properly fed, the child can learn. Our goal as a church is to support La Corde by volunteering or by giving, so that each child might receive breakfast and lunch each school day. We are excited to be used by God to help break the cycle of poverty for these kids of our Pierrefonds community. One at a time, child by child, family by family.
